5 Hacks for Nourished hair

Dry hair is usually caused by too much of a good thing, whether it be heat-styling, over-shampooing, or chemical treatments such as dyeing, perming, or straightening.

1.OIL UP
Your scalp naturally produces oils that help keep hair lubricated. "Some people simply don't produce enough oil, which leads to dry hair." Shampooing only every few days helps to maintain more natural oils, which condition hair. Even if you can't break the daily cleansing habit, be sure to always use a conditioner. And avoid shampoos labeled "clarifying," which are meant to clear out product buildup but can also strip away natural oils.

2.Choose a sulfate-free, glycerin-packed shampoo
Shampoos with sulfates strip and dehydrate your strands, which is the opposite of you want when looking to maintain moisture. Instead, look for one with glycerin high up in the ingredient list (the closer ingredients are to the top of the list, the more concentrated they are), since it helps combat frizz by penetrating the hair shaft and hydrating it from the inside out. It also creates a protective coating over the outside of the hair shaft, so it doesn't break.

3.Avoid using hot water on your mane
Even if you use conditioner, hot water will dehydrate your hair. Instead, use warm water followed by a blast of cold once you are done washing – this will close the hair particles that cause frizz.Your locks produce oil as a natural defence mechanism to keep moisture inside, so if you wash them every day this will strip away, resulting in a dull and dry finish. Try to go at least two or three days between washes – there are some great dry shampoos you can use to keep your hair from looking shiny.

4.Stop feeding your hair alcohol
If you look at most of your products and look at the ingredients - most drugstore products will have alcohol, because it’s really cheap for them to put it and they put it in most of your products(See tip 2!).Try to choose chemical free shampoos to keep dry brittle hair at bay.

5.Use a hydrating mask once a week
Keeping hair hydrated helps prevent the hair opening up and letting in moisture contributing to the frizz . Doing a mask of oil or a specialized hair treatments will keep hair moisturized and less prone to damage from styling. Look for masks containing coconut oil or castor oil; both amazing for hydration and will give your hair an incredible sheen when washed and styled also. Also try using extra virgin organic cold pressed coconut oil it will surely make a difference.
